Description   This item is a British Army “General Service” brass belt buckle with a leather belt, probably from the Boer war. The buckle features a central circular plate inscribed with the British royal motto “Dieu et mon droit”  The crown featured above the lion in the centre dates the buckle; a Victorian crown (with a flatter, slightly dipped top) indicates a date between approximately 1880–1901, while a King’s Crown (with a rounded dome like top) was in use from 1902–1952.  These buckles were commonly used with service belts or “walking out” belts for military personnel, including during the Boer War and World War I. The leather belt is original, and is in exceptionally good condition.   PRICE: £120   Shipping costs –Shipping will usually be Royal Mail 48 hr tracked.  Free to inland UK, Other countries please contact me for costs before buying!   Payment can be made with bank transfer, PAYPAL, or cash.
