Description This is an original WWII-era German WHW (Winterhilfswerk) donation badge featuring a military flag design representing the Jäger branch of the Wehrmacht. The reverse is clearly marked “JÄGER 22 Su.” and retains its original pin-back fastening.The badge belongs to the WHW series: “Die Siegreichen Fahnen und Standarten der Deutschen Wehrmacht” (The Victorious Flags and Standards of the German Armed Forces) The front displays a stylized military banner incorporating Wehrmacht-era symbolism and green-colored sections associated with the Jäger troops, the light infantry branch of the German Army. These badges were produced as collectible fundraising items during the Third Reich and distributed during nationwide WHW donation campaigns. The Winterhilfswerk (WHW) was a large state-organized charity program in Nazi Germany, intended to raise funds for civilians in need during the winter months.
