WW2 German Kriegsmarine U-Boat (Submarine) War Badge. Zinc based badge. The pin is steel (a magnet will stick to pin) and still has decent gilt finish on the pin. Very worn gilt finish on the front (obverse) of the badge as typical since the gilting tended to get absorbed or easily worn off the zinc base metal. Mid to Late war badge. Vertical pin. Not maker marked, however, often associated with Wachtler & Lange (W&L), most of this design are not marked, however, occasionally, you will find one with the “100” code under the pin for the maker of Wachtler & Lange.
